Jennifer C. Greening, Ph.D.

Jennifer C. Greening, Ph.D. received her B.A. in Child Development and Family Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin.  Upon graduation Jennifer taught in public schools for three years working with children with a variety of special needs including children on the autism spectrum. As a teacher working with children with special needs, she recognized the impact an illness or disability on the family. Working with these children and their families increased Jennifer’s desire to pursue her doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy.  

Jennifer completed her M.A. and her Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.  While pursuing her degree, Jennifer continued working with children and families struggling with a variety of illness, genetic disorders, developmental and neurological disorders. Dr. Greening specializes in working with individuals, couples, adolescents, children, and families struggling with medical conditions due to:

Families and individuals diagnosed with medical conditions often struggle with grief, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and stress. All of this usually leads to relational problems which can increase emotional turmoil. These circumstances leave individuals and families feeling overwhelmed and in some cases hopeless. Dr. Greening is passionate about helping individuals and their families cope with their diagnoses, in order to promote emotional, relational, and overall well-being.  

Dr. Greening uses family therapy, individual therapy, play therapy, behavioral therapy, social skills therapy, couples therapy, group therapy, and neurofeedback as means of helping children and families learn to cope with various illnesses and disorders. Dr. Greening also offers parent support groups for parents with children or teens with chronic neurological, developmental, and mood disorders.

Dr. Greening is bilingual (English and Spanish) and is a Texas board certified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFTA) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).


Kristi B. Cannon, Ph.D.

Dr. Cannon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. She later moved to San Antonio, Texas where she attended St. Mary’s University and received an M.A. in Community Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and is a National Certified Counselor.

Dr. Cannon specializes in the treatment of adolescent and women’s issues. In particular, Dr. Cannon works with teenage girls and their families to overcome issues such as relational aggression, depression, and eating disorders that are commonly found in the adolescent female population. In addition to individual and family work, Dr. Cannon has experience running adolescent girls groups both in and out of the school setting.

As a woman herself, Dr. Cannon recognizes the specific mental health needs of women in our culture today. She values the opportunity of working with women of all ages, particularly in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, and associated mood disorders.

Dr. Cannon also enjoys working with:

  • Pre-marital Counseling

Seeking a way to help her clients move forward, Dr. Cannon encourages the development of new ways of viewing and experiencing the world. She, like her colleagues, works collaboratively with other professionals and family members involved her clients’ lives to help her achieve this goal.


Randall L. Lyle, Ph.D.

Dr. Lyle received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Theology from Lorretto Heights College.  He later received a M. Div. from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary and Pastoral Care, spending several years as an Episcopal priest before receiving his Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Iowa State University.  He has worked collectively as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Pastoral Counselor for over 25 years.  In addition, Dr. Lyle has more than 10 years of experience in using Neurofeedback with individuals seeking to improve academic and sports performance, deepen their prayer life, and as an alternative treatment for children and adults with the following diagnoses:

He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Fellow of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, an Approved Supervisor for marriage and family therapists, a Certified EEG Associate Fellow, Associate Professor of Marriage and Family Therapy and director of Neurofeedback training at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, and a pioneer in the use of Neurofeedback in pastoral psychotherapy.

Dr. Lyle has appeared in popular publications such as Redbook magazine and the Ladies’ Home Journal.  He has written for the Dallas Morning News and the Boston Globe and appeared on television and radio programs in south Texas.  He has also published in professional journals such as the Journal of Marriage and Family Therapy, Family Process, the Journal of Neurotherapy and many others.  He has presented at professional conferences in Texas, across the United States and internationally.  He serves as a current board member of the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research and is a former member of the San Antonio Metropolitan Area HIV-AIDS Planning Council.
